Club Boulevard Humanities Magnet is an extraordinary school. With a curriculum of authentic art, Club has a unique focus. As a public magnet, Club attracts students from all over Durham with from a diverse array of backgrounds. The arts are brought to life by the faculty including seven full-time specialist teachers (Art, Music, Dance, Drama, Spanish, Library Media and Physical Education.) Club says they "are proud of the partnership between our experienced, creative teachers and enthusiastic, involved families." We found this to be very true this fall when students from Duke's Center for Documentary Studies spent the semester documenting Club.

The Duke class is called Capturing Transience: Documentary Photography and the Digital Age. Childhood is one of the most transient times in our lives, and each Duke student spent the full semester photographing one story. A donation from Andrew Johnson produced this website. Duke students provided final prints for a public exhibit for the families and staff. The website and all prints were all donated to the school as a gift with the hope to support the hard work teachers and staff put in every day to educate the children of Durham.

We are grateful to everyone at Club: the staff, teachers, children and parents of Club Boulevard Elementary! Thank you for letting us "Capture Club"!
